In the 1840 census for Guilford Co., NC it indicates that they still had 1 son and 1 daughter living with them.Found a Jonathan with same information? In the final papers for Joseph C. Hedgecock Sr. indicate that he requested that his estate be divided equally among all his children including Huldah who was deceased. He had 90 acres of land in Guilford County adjoining the land of Joshua Hedgecock and Matthew and Jacob Hedgecock. If the land were divided 11 acres would go to each child and only 2 acres would go to each of Huldah's children. Therefore, they proposed that the land be sold at auction and the money be divided. Marvin was a good farmer and prospered. He was the only great uncle I knew very well and allowed me to help him on his farm while we visited. During our visit when I was five year old, I remember him taking me in the wagon with him to get some corn from a storage ben in the field. There happened to be some kittens living there and he allowed me to bring one back to the house with me. It was great fun, but they weren't very tame. When we visited again some five years later, he let me shell the corn with the sheller and I even got to drive the team of horses around the yard. They are very fond memories. Marvin was a good farmer and prospered. He was the only great uncle I knew very well and allowed me to help him on his farm while we visited.
