Fred Hyatt B.14-3-1870. Married Ellen Fox B. 1893. Corsley Yorkshire. Fred was first a blacksmith, but he became a butcher when he was living with his sister and brother in law who was a butcher in Stalybridge Lancs. Ellen's parents William + Sarah Ann Fox. William Fox had been a stone mason like most of the Fox family in Cawthorne Yorkshire and had moved to 149 Knowle St Stalybridge Lancs with some of there family and become butchers with a large corner shop. This is how Fred met Ellen who was Williams younger sister. Between 1891 + 1896 Fred + Ellen may have been living at 69 Huddersfield Rd Stalybridge this is were Gweneth there first child was born in 1896. Fred returned to being a blacksmith and farrier and had his own business at the "Victoria Shoeing Forge" Mellor St Droylsden. They were living at 11 Buller St Droylesden when Herbert there last chid was born in 1905, later they moved to 24 Cemetery Rd Droylsden a much larger house, this is where Fred died on the 17th Oct 1930. Ellen died 7 Sept 1940 whilst living with Lillian at Hadden Hall Rd. Lillian Fox Hyatt married James Davey 28-3-1921. She had several miscarried pregnances and had one child Maria B.15-3-1940 8 Haven St who lived only two days, no living hildren. Appears in New Fairfield in the 1820 census. Listed with is wife and two children, Mary Ann and Isaac. Probably married here for Roxcenie's father John Carley is listed here in 1790, 1800 and 1810. Abt 1818 Roxcene inherited her share of her father's estate. She and Gilead lived out the rest of their lives here. Gilead was a laborer and four of his sons were at one time shoemakers. A fire in New Fairfield destroyed most of the records but some cemetery records list Gilead as a landsman in the Navy in the 1812 war. He died in the home of his son in law Nelson Durgy at the age of 86 and is buried in Union Cemetery (Balls Pond Cemetery) in New Fairfield. Henry was a private in Company K, Second regiment, Heavy Artillery, enlisted for a three year term on Jan. 4, 1864. He was killed on June 22, 1864 from a neck wound suffered in a skirmish with Hill's rebel division with five others about 3 miles southe of Petersburg and a mile east of Weldon Railroad. Henry Otis Hyatt, M.D. was listed as one of the best known and skilled physicians in the state of North Carolina, residing at Kinston. Being the only child by his dad's first wife, the second marriage gave issue to several children. His mother was a woman of vigorous intellect of stout, yet symmetrical figure, and in these particulars it was said her son bears strong resemblance. Henry was readred in the town of Tarboro, educated in a male academy and studied Greek and Latin. Inherited wealth from his mothers estate and many slaves but at the soon close of the civil war left him in poverty. Education was no longer attempted and he set out for a trade. Blackmith took his interested but later entered the office of Dr. N. J. Pittman and asked to be accepted as a student in medicine. Herbert Hyatt who was a Registered Shoeing Smith worked in the family forge and blacksmiths workshop in Mellor St Droylsden (the building is still there but has suffered over the years from change and fire damage and was mostly rebuilt in 1994) he married Alice Doreen Dyer Born 10 Jul 1911 New Mills Derbyshire, a ladies hairdresser, the Dyer trade, they married on the 18 Aug 1935 in St Marys Parish Church Droylsden M/c. Doreen and Herbert had one child Colin Born 26 Aug 1936. The family moved south to Dorset approx 1947 and then into Hampshire in 1950/51. Herbert died 17thNov 1975. Doreen Hyatt is now 86yrs old but now suffers from severe senile dementia and is in a nursing home in Locksheath quite close to where her son lives.spouse: >Dyer, Alice Doreen (1911 - )

They are now buried in the Baptist graveyard in Carmel, NY (just north of NYC) They had a son, James D. Hyatt, who lived in Putnam County, NY. He married Minerva Mead...they had 5 girls and nine boys. One of which was John W. Hyatt (b. 8/11/1844) John W. was 9 years old when the family moved to Sheboygan Co. Wisconsin.
