Jesse was born in NC ca 1783 and Elizabeth was born in SC ca 1787.spouse: >Elizabeth, (~1787 - )Jesse appears on the Benton Co. AL census in 1840. Was he the Jesse HYATT who is on the Chester Co. SC census in 1810, 1820, and 1830?
I descend from Jesse's son, David HYATT. He was born in SC on 27 Oct 1819. He married Nancy Caroline CALLOWAY on 4 Feb 1841 in AL (probably Benton Co.). David appears on the 1840 Benton Co. AL census, then in Cherokee Co. AL in 1850. I haven't seen the 1860 Cherokee Co. census yet, but David eventually moved to Blount Co. AL, where he appears on the 1880 census.
Any HYATT cousins out there?

Notes : They all arrived May of 1770 the same spring in which occurred the Boston Massacre. They came from New Jersey and it is claimed they crossed the Casselmen River near the present site of Harnedsville and passing over the Hogback Mts. came to rest in the valley of Laurel Hill Creek. The men who were the heads of families as far as can be ascertained were..... Robert Colborn, David King, CHRISTOPHER KING, Oliver Drake, WILLIAM RUSH, Andrew Ream, NATHANIEL SKINNER, John Mitchell, John Hyatt, William Tannehill, James Moon, EDWARD HARNED, David Woodmancy, John Copp, JOHN MCNAIR, Joseph Lanning, William Brook, Jacob Strawn and Obadiah Reed. WILLIAM RUSH located above Ursina on what in later times was known as the "Minder Farm." On Wednesday, the fourteenth anno Domini 1775 at the home of Moses Hall they met with purpose to create a new church under the direction of Rev. Isaac Sutton and Rev. John Corbly. In this way the Turkeyfoot Baptist Church or "Jersey Church" was founded under the laws of King George III one year and and 20 days before the Declaration of Independence was signed and fifty-six days after the first battle of the Revolutionary War was fought at Lexington. These Baptists were of the strictly religious type. To have your name in the church meant something. It was a real recommendation as no triflers were allowed. Absence from meeting meant that a committee would call and see why. If from church services the same. Grievances between neighbors were settled at Church-meeting. Taken from the old church record is the following: "Resolved that brethren Robert Colburn and JACOB RUSH be a committee to site brother Jacob King to attend the next church meeting to be held on Saturday preceding the 3d. Sabbath in March next, to answer for neglect in filling his seat in our church meetings and for the sin of intemperance." The Jersey Church is the oldest Baptist church west of the Alleghenies and the first church ever formed in Somerset County. The Turkeyfoot Baptist church of today is carrying the torch lighted by its forefathers so many years ago.....as per the words of Jacob H. RUSH in his resignation as deacon in 1860. He said: "May the old Turkeyfoot Church become as a city set on a hill which can not be hid." "The Jersey Church Through the Years" by Mrs. A.G. Boughner and reprinted for the 1976 Bicentennial. Each of William's sons, John, William and Jacob, had sons they named Jacob. In the early days, when all were settled in the Old Turkeyfoot Region, each had a prefix to his name so that it might be known of which one you were speaking. Thus, Rev. War Vet. Jacob, who lived to be age 95, was known as "Old Grandfather Jacob," his son Jacob, was known as "Doc Jake," and his son as "Little Jake," or "Professor Jake," and Jacob H., son of John, as "Fuller Jake," and Jacob, son of William, as "Esquire Jake." This according to the memory of Bryson Rush as written to M.P. Rush, May 30th, 1920. Lastly, William may have had up to three illegitimate children and was called a "renegade" by some. (Various sources and historical accounts in the Hist. + Gen. Soc. of Somerset Co, including those of Harry S. Rush, state that Michael, Huldah and Conrad are three children of William--though apparently not by wife Elizabeth.) Hilda is ancestor of Vanita Reinbold, Suzanne Mitton, Nancy Albrechtsen, Lyall Silbaugh, Violet Holman and Luther Olson.

Unknown Hyatt is one generation past what I know. He and his unknown wife has at least two children Josiah and Isaiah Hyatt. Both of these men lived in Ohio prior to some of their children coming to Nebraska in the 1880's. I have very little information on Josiah and Isaiah, or Josiah's children who stayed in Ohio. My ancestor Abraham Workman Hyatt had 6 other siblings that stayed in Ohio. I have found some on Priscilla Hyatt thru the LDS facilities. I am looking for Louise, Stephen, Mary, and Isaiah. His brother James moved to Nebraska about the time Abraham did. I am looking both forward and backward for statistical data as will as historical information to add to my book. All information is welcome. Patrick D. and Edith Deuel deuelsearch@@kearney.netspouse: >Workman, Hannah (~1808 - )
