Thayne Bryant graduated from Udell high school and moved to Centerville at the age of 20. Thayne worked for a brickyard and ice plant before being employed by the Empire Mine. He was a active member of the First United Methodist Church in Centerville serving on the administrative board, the evangalism committee, the visitation committee and was head usher when health forced him to retire. He was a resident of Centerville for 51 years at 811 Soutn 16th Street. He was the owner and operator of Bryant's Skelly Service Station on the corner of Drake and Maple for 36 years.
